At approximately 00:07, SCP Security’s control room received an alert from TrackerSA regarding a hijacked white Datsun Go within our operational area.
The victims were confronted by an armed male suspect, who forcibly took control of the vehicle, with the victim still inside. SCP Security Reaction Officers were immediately notified, and a search operation was launched. As updates on the vehicle’s location were received, officers were directed to standby in the approximate area of travel.
The vehicle was subsequently spotted traveling at high speed along Beyers Naude Drive by SCP Security Reaction Officers, who initiated a pursuit. During the chase, the suspects fired at the officers. However, the pursuit was successful, and the vehicle was eventually cornered at the intersection of Weltevreden Road and Pendoring Road in Northcliff.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes before officers could bring the vehicle to a complete stop. TrackerSA and several other security agencies arrived on scene shortly thereafter, assisting in the recovery of the hijacked vehicle.
