PALM TREE ON FIRE IN GREYMONT

This afternoon at approximately 15:50, the control room was alerted to a palm tree fire caused by a lightning strike in Greymont. Emergency protocols were activated, and a Reaction Officer was promptly dispatched to evaluate the situation and initiate the appropriate response measures.

Upon arrival, the responding officer was assisted by a Senior Commander who happened to be in the immediate area. The coordinated efforts of the team ensured the fire was quickly contained and extinguished, mitigating any potential spread to nearby structures or vegetation.

The incident was brought under control without injuries or secondary risks. The swift and professional response demonstrated the effectiveness of our emergency procedures and the preparedness of our personnel. A post-incident inspection will be conducted to assess any residual safety concerns.
