8 November 2024 at 16:18 our control room received multiple reports of a house fire in Greymont, JHB.
SCP Private Fire Search and Rescue was immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived within 6 minutes.
During this rapid response one of our Reaction Officers successfully rescued one male from the burning cottage, preventing further harm. The male suffered severe smoke inhalation and required urgent medical assistance.
Upon arrival the SCP Private Fire Search & Rescue Crew quickly extinguished the fire and determined the cause as well which will be detailed in our report.
HELP24 ambulance was called to treat the patient who had been removed from the fire. The patient was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further medical treatment.
Today SCP Security and HELP24 saved a man's life who would have without doubt passed on had the response been 5minutes later.
