At approximately 17:55, an alert was received regarding a large fallen tree at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Market Street in Fairlands. The SCP Private Fire Search and Rescue Crew responded immediately to conduct a thorough site assessment.

Upon arrival, the team identified multiple safety hazards, prompting coordinated removal efforts with CityParks personnel. Due to the incident’s complexity—including proximity to public activity—temporary road closures were implemented to ensure operational safety.





Further inspection revealed the tree had struck a utility pole, leaving a power line dislodged. A priority service request (Reference: CPWEB4629347) was escalated to CityPower for urgent resolution.

Additionally, damage to a water pipe caused a significant rupture, which was promptly reported to Joburg Water (Reference: JWAPP-40023769) for remediation.
